يمثّل الفنان مصطفى أحمد (1930- 1999 ) أحد الأصوات المميزة في جيل الستينيات المصري، إذ صاغ مساره التشكيلي على تماس بين التراث والتجريب. تخرّج في مناخ كانت فيه الأسئلة الكبرى للفن تدور حول الهوية والبناء، فاستعاد في أعماله صرامة العمارة المصرية القديمة، واشتغل على فكرة الكتلة بوصفها نواة للمعنى.في لوحاته تتقاطع الجدران والقباب والكتل الصخرية في توازن مدروس، تتحرك بينها ومضات ضوء تخلق بعداً روحياً من دون أن تنفصل عن الواقع المادي.

هذا المزج بين الميتافيزيقي والمحسوس منح تجربته فرادتها داخل الحركة التشكيلية المصرية، وجعل أعماله أقرب إلى تأملٍ في الزمن وتحوّلات المكان. في مسيرته الطويلة ظلّ مصطفى أحمد مشغولاً بفكرة الوجود، بمصير الأشياء حين يختلط الضوء بالمادة، والعناصر باللون. تتبدى في أعماله حساسية المعماريّ الذي يبني العالم طبقة بعد أخرى، كمن يشيد معبده الداخلي بالحكمة والسكينة.

ويأتي هذا المعرض الاستعادي من أجل تسليط الضوء على تجربة الفنان، وإعادة قراءة منجزه البصري ضمن سياقه التاريخي، ولإبراز اتساق رؤيته حتى سنواته الأخيرة.

Mostafa Ahmed (1930–1999) represents one of the distinctive voices of the Egyptian 1960s generation, shaping his artistic path combining tradition and experimentation. He graduated in a time where the major art questions revolved around identity and structure, and in his works he revived the precision of ancient Egyptian architecture. In his paintings, walls, domes, and rock formations intersect in a carefully measured balance, with flashes of light moving among them to create a spiritual dimension without detaching from its materialistic reality

Emerging from a period defined by questions of identity and being, Ahmed followed the accurate geometry of ancient Egyptian architecture, treating structure as a vessel of meaning.

In his paintings, walls, domes & stone masses converge in measured balance, animated by fleeting glimmers of light that introduce a spiritual dimension without severing ties to material reality.

Throughout his career, Ahmed remained deeply engaged with the idea of existence… of what becomes of matter when light merges with substance, and of how color might carry the weight of memory. His canvases reveal the sensibility of an architect: building the world layer by layer, as though erecting an inner sanctuary founded on wisdom and stillness.

This retrospective exhibition seeks to shed light on Ahmed’s profound contribution, recontextualizing his visual legacy within its historical framework and highlighting the enduring clarity of his vision through his final years.
