الست: By Taha El-Kourany
في الست | فوق الرأس يقدّم طه القرني تحيّة إلى أم كلثوم، الصوت الاستثنائي الذي شكّل وجدان أجيال كاملة، وصار جزءًا من ذاكرة الأمة العربية. صوتها حمل فرحة الوطن، وشجن الحبيب، وحب الفداء، ونشوة النصر، حتى باتت أيقونة ثقافية تختصر روح شعب بأكمله.
لأوّل مرة في سلسلته الشهيرة فوق الرأس، يضع القرني أم كلثوم في مركز رؤيته. من منظور عين الطائر، لا يلتقط حضورها الآسر على المسرح فحسب، بل يعيد تشكيل المشهد كله: الفرقة الموسيقية، العازفين، والأجواء التي جعلت من كل حفلة حدثًا في الذاكرة الجماعية.
في هذه الأعمال، يصبح اللون إيقاعًا، والتكوين موسيقى، واللوحة مساحة تتجاوز شكلها التقليدي لتندمج مع الموروث الشعبي والفن الغنائي. هي تجربة بصرية تستعير من اتساع فنّ أم كلثوم وخلود صوتها.
الست | فوق الرأس هو تكريم وشهادة في آن رسالة حب يرسمها فنان إلى كوكب الشرق، التي لا تزال صورتها وصوتها تحلّق فوق الرؤوس، عبر الزمن والذاكرة والوطن.
In الست | فوق الراس, Taha El Korany pays homage to Om Kolthoum the unrivaled voice of the Arab world, whose songs shaped generations and became woven into the collective memory of a nation. Her voice carried the joy of the homeland, the sorrow of love, the pride of sacrifice, and the triumph of victory. Few cultural figures have embodied, with such force, the soul of an entire people.
For the first time within his celebrated “Above the Head” series, El Korany places Om Kolthoum at the center of his vision. From a bird’s-eye perspective, he reconstructs not only her commanding presence on stage, but the entire scene that surrounded her: the orchestra, the musicians, the atmosphere that turned every performance into a cultural milestone.
Through color, rhythm, and form, the canvases become compositions of their own where painting meets music, where visual language merges with popular heritage. Breaking free from the conventional frame, El Korany creates a dynamic space that mirrors the expansiveness of Om Kolthoum’s art.
This exhibition is both tribute and testimony: a painter’s love letter to the “Star of the East,” whose presence still resonates above our heads, across time, memory, and nation.
