Shady Hamed (b. 1991) is an Egyptian visual artist based in Alexandria. Working primarily through figurative painting, his practice explores states of psychological suspension, silence, and transformation. His works construct symbolic spaces where personal experience intersects with broader questions of perception, memory, and the search for meaning.
Hamed has participated in numerous exhibitions and art initiatives across Egypt, including the Youth Salon and the General Exhibition organized by the Egyptian Ministry of Culture. His work has been presented by institutions and platforms such as Art D’Égypte, Bibliotheca Alexandrina, TAM Gallery, Art Talks, and the Ostraka Biennale.
In 2024, he was awarded Third Prize in Painting by the Farouk Hosny Foundation for Culture and Arts. Through a visual language that balances introspection with symbolism, Hamed continues to develop a body of work that examines the relationship between inner experience and contemporary existence.
